Located in the very heart of the medieval town, our home is one minute’s walk away from the Groene Rei and three minutes from the Burg and the Market square, in one of the more peaceful streets in the area.
The house in its current form was constructed in 1832. However, the Marcus Gerardus map from 1562 reveals two smaller houses stood on the same spot, the remains of which were found during the last restoration and renovation works performed in 2000 and 2001.
In the corridor with old, marble church floor, the magnificent wooden spiral staircase takes you from the first to the second floor where the beautiful, charming and peaceful rooms are found. You’ll immediately feel at home here.
You’re expected for breakfast between 8.30 and 9.30 am, at the large table in the dining room. If you’re departing early, we’ll provide you a picnic bag to take with you. Breakfast consists of a roll and a Danish roll, Belgian chocolate, a range of breads, cheese and delicious cold cuts (local), splendid jams, honey, chocolate and speculoos spreads, ginger bread, yoghurt, muesli, cornflakes and fresh fruit. We serve fruit juice, hot drinks and there are always “sweet treats” to round off your breakfast.
The rooms were fully refurnished in 2001 with every modern comfort, yet retaining the building’s characteristic, old features such as the parquet floors, wooden ceilings, and original old doors. They have been furnished and decorated with the utmost taste. Refreshment works are carried out every year where necessary, meaning the rooms are always equipped with modern comfort in mind. Our rooms include a hair dryer, TV, kettle for tea and coffee, queen-size bed (160 cm) or two single beds (room H), radio alarm, en suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. There are two rooms where a third person can also sleep in the same room.
From here you can easily visit the city on foot, hire bikes for exploring the region Brugse Ommeland (the hinterland of Bruges) or enjoy the many fine local restaurants.
Amaryllis and Bart are more than happy to tell you about the best places to go, great restaurants, museums and other places.
On your final day or if arriving early, you can always leave your luggage with us.
